Accessibility Statement

Certus SPV SLU is committed to making finest.press digitally accessible to all users. This statement describes our current conformance level, known limitations and how to report accessibility problems.

1. Conformance status

Target conformance level: WCAG 2.2 Level AA, as published by the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), and the Spanish standard UNE 139803:2012 (Accessibility requirements for web content).

Current status: Partially conformant. FINEST is in pre-launch. The full platform is planned for 2027 and will undergo an independent accessibility audit before public launch. The limitations listed below are actively being addressed.

2. Accessible features

The following WCAG 2.2 AA criteria are implemented in the current version:

  • 1.1.1 Non-text content: Editorial images include descriptive alternative text.
  • 1.3.1 Info and relationships: Semantic structure uses HTML5 landmark elements (<main>, <nav>, <header>, <footer>, <article>).
  • 1.4.3 Contrast (minimum): Body text achieves a contrast ratio above 4.5:1 against its background.
  • 1.4.4 Resize text: Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or function.
  • 2.1.1 Keyboard: The main navigation is fully keyboard-operable.
  • 2.4.1 Bypass blocks: A skip link to #main-content is present at the top of every page.
  • 2.4.2 Page titled: Each page has a descriptive, unique title.
  • 2.4.7 Focus visible: The :focus-visible indicator is clearly visible on all interactive elements.
  • 3.1.1 Language of page: The lang attribute is set correctly on <html>.
  • 4.1.2 Name, role, value: Form controls and buttons carry accessible labels.
  • Reduced motion: Animations are suppressed when the user has set prefers-reduced-motion: reduce.

3. Known limitations

The following elements have identified accessibility limitations or are under active review:

  • Interactive map (Mapbox GL JS — Phase 2): The restaurant map planned for Phase 2 may not be fully keyboard-operable or compatible with screen readers. A textual alternative will be provided and the component will be audited before launch. (WCAG 2.2: 1.1.1, 2.1.1)
  • Score ticker (dynamic component): The moving score ticker may create difficulties for users with motion disorders. A pause control is planned. (WCAG 2.2: 2.2.2)
  • Complex data tables: Some restaurant data tables may lack correctly associated row and column headers via scope or headers. Under review for Phase 1 full launch. (WCAG 2.2: 1.3.1)
  • User-generated content (Phase 3): Club FINEST reviews and member-submitted content will be reviewed for accessibility before publication.
  • PDF documents: If PDFs are published in the future (reports, methodology), they will either conform to PDF/UA or an HTML alternative will be provided.

4. Audit process

This statement is based on an internal self-assessment by the Certus SPV SLU technical team. Prior to the full public platform launch planned for 2027, an independent accessibility audit will be conducted.

5. Contact and requests for accessible content

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on finest.press, or need information in a more accessible format, please contact us:

  • Email: [email protected]
  • Suggested subject line: "Accessibility — [brief description]"
  • Response time: We will respond within 20 working days.

Please include: the URL or section of the site affected, a description of the barrier or the alternative format you need, and optionally the browser and assistive technology you are using.

6. Complaints procedure

If you are not satisfied with our response, or have received no reply within the stated time, you may:

  • Lodge a formal complaint with Certus SPV SLU at [email protected].
  • Contact the relevant supervisory authority. FINEST is a private-sector platform. Spain's Real Decreto 1112/2018 applies directly to public-sector bodies; Certus SPV SLU applies its principles voluntarily. For consumer-related matters, Spanish consumer protection services apply.

7. Tested assistive technologies

finest.press is tested against the following assistive technology combinations:

  • VoiceOver (macOS / iOS) + Safari
  • NVDA + Firefox (Windows)
  • TalkBack + Chrome (Android)
  • Full keyboard navigation (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, arrow keys)

If you experience compatibility issues with another assistive technology, please report them via the contact mechanism in section 5.

8. Review date

This statement was last reviewed on and will be updated whenever material changes are made to the website or its conformance level.
