Working with FINEST
FINEST maintains strict editorial independence. This page explains what agencies and restaurant groups can — and cannot — do with FINEST, and how to submit accurate information.
Our independence policy
FINEST scores are a composite of three independent signal layers: professional critics, verified public ratings, and Club FINEST member scores. No commercial relationship, PR relationship, or advertising affects any layer of the score.
FINEST pays for its own visits. We do not accept sponsored content, hosted dinners, or any arrangement that could create a conflict of interest. Our critics visit anonymously.
Restaurants that advertise on FINEST (currently not available) will be clearly labelled. Advertising does not affect ranking position or score in any way.
What agencies can do
- Submit factual corrections (new chef, menu changes, closures, re-openings)
- Send story tips and exclusive news for editorial consideration
- Request data licensing for commercial use (contact [email protected])
- Cite FINEST scores and rankings in communications (see editorial guidelines)
- Apply for press accreditation for restaurant launches and events
What agencies cannot do
- Pay to improve a restaurant's score or ranking position
- Request removal of reviews or scores
- Influence critic visits or review timing
- Use FINEST brand assets for endorsement without written permission
Frequently asked questions
- Can we pay to improve a restaurant's score?
- No. FINEST scores are strictly independent. No commercial relationship affects rankings. We do not accept payment for score improvement, placement, or any editorial benefit.
- Can we submit updated information about a restaurant?
- Yes. Use the press submission form to send corrections (new chef, menu changes, closures, re-openings). We review all submissions. Factual updates are processed within 5 business days.
- Can we request a visit or review?
- FINEST critics visit independently and anonymously. We do not accept hosted visits or press events that would affect editorial independence.
- Can we license or syndicate FINEST data?
- Licensing of FINEST rankings and score data is available under a commercial agreement. Contact [email protected] for licensing terms.
